Vision
The vision for LMSI came while in preparation for a trip to the Philippines in the fall of 2013. The purpose of the trip was to conduct seminars to ministers in the Philippines. The flights taken to the Philippines were from Chicago to Los Angeles to Manila.
A flight from Chicago to Los Angeles takes four hours. Consider that a flight from New York to Los Angeles takes approximately 5 hours and is about 3000 miles. If you look at a map of Southeast Asia, and use Manila as the hub of a wheel, an interesting perspective develops. Using Manila as the hub of the wheel and center point, draw a circle with a radius of 3000 miles. This is the approximate distance of the five-hour air flight.

The world's total population is estimated at 7 billion people. Fully one half of the world’s population – one half of all mankind – live within a five hour flight of Manila, Philippines. With the exception of Australia and the Philippines, a large majority of these people are non-Christian.
These numbers are cause for training ministers in that part of the world. This follows what Jesus said in Luke 10
NKJV Luke 10:1,2: After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go. Then He said to them, "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.
The seminars confirmed the need for trained ministry. Discussions with local pastors also showed the same need. This is not just from Philippines, but for all of Southeast Asia. The seminar attendees were shown the vision, the view and the numbers mentioned above. They were exhorted to be like Isaiah in Isaiah 6 – ‘Here am I, send me” to the Philippines and Southeast Asia. Discussions with local pastors resulted in efforts to form a Bible school on the island of Negros in the Philippines in the city of Bacolod. The first Bible school started classes in Bacolod, Philippines in July 2014.
In obedience, Loukas Ministry Schools International (LMSI) seeks to train ministers, both new and established, for the work in Southeast Asia and other parts of the world, as the Lord leads. There will be a need for more of these Bible schools in various parts of the Philippines and elsewhere.
The model for the Bible school was designed so that there would be no cost for the students to attend. The school consists of ten classes takes approximately one year.
